Dear colleagues and friends,

 On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our pleasure and privilege to invite you to the 3rd Combined Meeting of the Japanese and American Orthopaedic Societies for Sports Medicine to be held in Maui, Hawaii on March 26 to 29, 2011. The historic first Combined Meeting of the JOSSM and AOSSM was held in Kauai, Hawaii from January 22nd to 25th, 1991. However, after the 2nd Meeting which was held in Maui, Hawaii from March 20th to 25th, 1993, about 17 years passed without an opportunity to have another. During this period, many new concepts and technologies have developed in the field of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. So, our two societies have decided to restart this Combined Meeting.

 This meeting is a geographical challenge which can be met through our shared passion for our specialty, the common scientific interest, and the friendly discourse between members of our two societies. I therefore invite all of you to this 3rd Combined Meeting; in the near future we will witness the effect of our collaboration through the education of young doctors, and the deepening knowledge of our common field.

 Finally, Hawaii is an attractive vacation destination, please bring your families along to this meeting.
