Message from the Congress Presidents
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to '2009 East Asia Hemophilia Forum' at Kitakyushu International Conference Center in Kitakyushu, Japan on June 6- 7, 2009.
The first East Asia Hemophilia Forum was held at COEX Convention Center in Seoul, Korea on 7-8 November last year. The Main purposes of the forum are 1) to provide a solid platform which will drive scientific achievements and technical development for hemophilia research in East Asia, 2) to encourage combining the results from academic activities and cooperation in East Asia, 3) to lead co-research and exchange programs in East Asia. About 100 people including doctors, researchers, nurses or staff from pharmaceutical companies attended the first Forum from China, Japan, Taiwan and Korea.
The second Forum will be held as a part of the 32nd Congress of the Japanese Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis in Kitakyushu. The city of Kitakyushu is in the northern part of Kyushu Island. Kyushu has been one of Japan’s gateways from Korea and China since ancient times. Over 2,000 years ago, techniques for the cultivation of rice and manufacture of iron and bronze ware, which had originated from China, were brought to Kyushu from the Korean Peninsula. Many Cultural aspects were imported to Japan as well. Since then, Kyushu has been a hub area for exchanging cultures and products between East Asia countries and Japan.
Please join the ‘2009 East Asia Hemophilia Forum’ here in Kitakyushu, and let us exchange our knowledge, technologies and colleague for the development of medical treatment and friendship for Hemophilia in East Asia.
