Abstract Submission
If you missed the 1st Round deadline, please note you can still submit your abstract in the 2nd Round. 2nd Round Acceptance of Abstract Submission starts April 1, 2011
*All the abstracts submitted in the 1st round have been sent to the Program Committee for peer-review and these modifications was only available until Noon, March 31, 2011.
*Please note that you can no longer modify your 1st Round abstract using your login ID or password after March 31, 2011.

General Guidelines
Abstract title must be limited to 30 words.
The body of abstracts should contain a maximum of 300 words and must be submitted in English.
No chart and graphics should be included in the abstract.
All confirmed abstracts will be published in the Abstract CD-ROM (or Book.)
Presenting author must make a pre-registration when submitting an abstract.
Each presenting author may present only one abstract at the congress.
Presenting author who cannot make a pre-registration due to some unavoidable reasons must inform the secretariat in advance.
Abstract submissions will only be accepted via the congress website.

Travel Grant
Participants who fulfill the following conditions can apply travel grants. If you wish to apply, please tick 'Travel Grant' box in the abstract submission page.
Applicants must fulfill all of the following conditions:
i) Applicants must be under 40 years of age; and
ii) nationals of non-OECD countries*; and
iii) the first author of the submitted abstract.
In addition to the above, please note that:
iv) Grant recipients must present a paper at the congress.
v) Only one applicant is eligible for each accepted paper.
*Non-OECD countries refer to the countries not listed in the following list:
Grant recipients will receive an e-mail notification by the middle of June, 2011, and must present a valid passport and boarding tickets before the meeting attendance.

Results Notification
All abstracts will be reviewed by the National Organizing Committee. Authors will be notified by e-mail of their abstract results. The notification will be sent by the beginning of June. Please note that the acceptance of an abstract does not imply funding from the Meeting.
Abstracts for Virology will be allocated to either oral presentation in one of symposium sessions or poster presentation related to the symposium by the Committee and the Chairs of each symposium. With regard to BAM and Mycology, abstracts will be selected for poster presentations only.

Other Notes
Once submission is completed, you will automatically receive an e-mail confirming the receipt of your abstract submission. If you do not receive this e-mail within 30 minutes after submission, there is a possibility that your submission has not been processed completely. In that case, please contact the secretariat (prog-iums2011@congre.co.jp) by e-mail.
ID Number is generated when an abstract is submitted. During the submission period, you may edit your abstract with this ID number and the password. Please retain them for future reference.
After the deadline for abstract submission, any change related to abstracts cannot be made. Please make sure all the information is registered before the deadline.
Any submitted abstracts will not be edited or proof-read before printing. The first/presenting author is responsible for his/her abstract.
