Two Mouse Tales
I intend to look back at the progression of ideas that occurred during the 30 years before gene targeting was possible, and the 20 years that I have since spent in altering genes in mice, with emphasis on those related to the control of blood pressure. My talk will consist of "turning pages" in my notebooks. I shall also stress the importance of experimentally controlling the level of expression of genes of interest, and the usefulness of developing computer simulations to help understand the results of the experiments.
