The 24th Annual Meeting of The International Health Evaluation and Promotion Association Date:Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21, 2012 Venue:Tokyo International Forum

I have been designated as the organizer of IHEPA 2012 Tokyo Meeting.

Over the four decades, we have worked to international contribute to the development of preventive medicine. With the aim of compiling the outcomes of previous meetings and activities and contributing to health promotion of the entire population, the theme for Meeting has been set as "Health promotion strategy for all."

We believe that the results of health evaluations are not just of benefit for the individual in question, but that their content can be used to transmit a message and contribute to health promotion for the entire population.

This meeting offers two further special opportunities. One of these is that Professor Shigeaki Hinohara, the President of IHEPA and JHEP, will be celebrating his 100th birthday, and to commemorate this occasion we are planning a program that befits this milestone. The second opportunity is that this Meeting is being held in conjunction with the 40th Annual Meeting of Japan Association of Health Evaluation and Promotion, which will enable delegates to participate simultaneously in a domestic and international congress.

The venue for the Annual Meeting is the Tokyo International Forum, one of the preeminent congress facilities in the country and on the final day we are planning to hold a public lecture by Professor Hinohara. I very much look forward to seeing many members of JHEP and other persons with an interest in preventive medicine at the 40th Annual Meeting.
