Non-smoking Policy

Please refrain from using mobile phones in the congress venue. Please power off your mobile phone or set to the silent mode.

Instructions for Oral Presentation

Please follow the instructions for your presentation as below.

Symposia, Panel discussions and Workshop 10 minutes for presentation.
It may be included discussion conducted
by the chairperson in the session.
Free Papers 6 minutes for presentation and 4 minutes
for discussion
Poster Sessions 3 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes
for discussion
  • Oral presentation for JOAR 2010 must be computer-based. You may use CD-ROM (CD-R or CD-RW) and USB flash memory drive, or bring your laptop PC. Regarding the use of movie data and animation in your presentation or Macintosh computer, we strongly recommend bringing your own PC.
  • Please be aware of the signal lamps during your presentation. The blue lamp will light when 1 minute remains and the red lamp will light when your time is up.
  • When the presenter ahead of you takes the stage, please be seated in the standby seat.
  • You are required to operate your own PC using monitor, keyboard and mouse during the presentation.
  • Please note that audio data is not played during your presentation.

Instructions for bringing your laptop PC

  • You must run through the connection and operation of your equipment and preview your presentation data at the Preview Center by 1 hour before your session is scheduled to begin.
  • You are required to come to the PC Desk near the standby seat by at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled presentation.
  • The organizer will provide mini D-sub 15-pin cables only. If you need another type of connector for your PC, please bring it yourself.

Instructions for bringing USB flash memory drive and CD-ROM (CD-R or CD-RW)

PC compatibility: Windows XP, Vista
Application: Microsoft PowerPoint 2000/2003/2007

  • Please bring USB flash memory drive and CD-ROM (CD-R or CD-RW) for your presentation, but not MO and others.
  • Please use only the standards fonts provided with Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows such as MS Mincho, MS Gothic, Times New Roman, Arial, Century, etc. or outline the characters as images, in order to avoid character corruption.
  • Please submit all of your presentation data at the Preview Center by at least 1 hour prior to your scheduled presentation.

Instructions for Poster Sessions

  • The size of the poster is 90 cm wide by 160 cm high.
  • Please prepare Poster title, Name of presenter and Affiliation, within 70 cm wide by 20 cm high.
  • Presentation No. and pins will be provided by the congress secretariat.
  • You are allotted 3 minutes for your presentation and 2 minutes for discussion. Please adhere to the time schedule.
  • Please come to the area where your poster is displayed by at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled presentation.

  • The times for mounting and removing posters are shown in the following table. Please make sure to remove your poster during the removal time otherwise remained posters will be disposed by the congress secretariat.
