The 3rd International Conference on
Nanomaterials by Severe Plastic Deformation (NanoSPD3) will
be held in Fukuoka, Japan, an Asian international city located
in the western part of Japan. We know that the SPD process provides
unique properties to metallic materials through significant
refinement of grains and other structural features. The conference
will cover microstructural features, mechanical properties and
physical properties of SPD materials including the development
of the SPD process. The 1st and 2nd SPD conferences
(NanoSPD1 and NanoSPD2), which were held in Moscow, Russia,
1999, and in Vienna, Austria, 2002, were very successful, making
many metallurgists and materials scientists aware of the importance
and potential of the SPD process for the production of nanostructured
materials. The forthcoming 3rd SPD conference (NanoSPD3) will
aim not only to develop new properties through the SPD process
but also to bring new ideas to the practical applications of
the SPD process that directly contribute to our environment
in the 21st century. All participants working
on SPD and nanostructured materials will be welcome to Fukuoka
in September 2005. We very much look forward to seeing you at
NanoSPD3. |
