Abstract Submission has been closed.

The 29th World Congress of Endourology & SWL (WCE 2011) Scientific Program Committee is pleased to receive abstracts for Poster and Video sessions.

This year, the 8th Annual Meeting of the East Asian Society of Endourology (EASE 2011) will be held in conjunction with WCE2011 and they will share an online abstract submission system. If you would like your poster abstract reviewed both for WCE 2011 and EASE 2011, please check the appropriate boxes on the submission page. Abstracts for Moderated Poster or Un-moderated Poster sessions can be submitted for EASE 2011. For details on EASE abstract submission, please visit the EASE 2011 website.

REGISTRATION

Presenting authors are required to register for the congress by the Early Registration deadline. The Registration Number (NOT Sign-in ID) issued after completing online registration is required when submitting abstracts.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

All abstracts should be submitted online through the relevant website. Abstracts will be accepted in English only. Abstracts should not exceed 250 words in length. (Submissions will not be accepted if they exceed the 250 word count.)

The abstract should be organized as follows:

- Introduction
- Purpose
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
- One (1) graphic, photo or table may be included and will count as 50 words

There is no fee for submitting an abstract. There is no limit to the number of abstracts you can submit. Submitters of abstracts are able to choose in which category they would like to submit their abstract.

POSTER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

There are four types of poster presentation sessions:
- Moderated Poster
- Moderated Poster (Basic Research) -only for WCE 2011-
- Un-moderated Poster
- V-Poster -only for WCE 2011-

The Moderated Poster session will be a podium-like session. After a thirty minute overview of posters, each author will have up to two minutes to make a brief presentation (with PowerPoint if needed). After each presentation, there will be time for Questions & Answers. Details on how to format your printed poster will be provided upon notification of abstract acceptance.

For the V-Poster presentation, one Power-Point slide using one screen will be presented. This allows for the insertion of video clips and animated graphics. The V-Poster should be made with Microsoft PowerPoint. A template of the V-Poster will be available to download at the congress website.

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES -only for WCE 2011-

The video presentation should be limited to seven minutes with the main point of the surgery emphasized. The video has to be presented in English and has to be in a separate file.

All videos should be submitted on DVD discs to the Scientific Program Committee at the address below by July 22, 2011 (CLOSED):

IMPORTANT

Written abstracts are required to be submitted with each video. When you submit an abstract online, you need to indicate whether the abstract is accompanied by a video, by choosing "Video" from the presentation style options. Additionally in order to ensure that your abstract matches the video, the Online Abstract Submission Number received in your email confirmation should also be clearly indicated on the DVD cover. Video submission without such an indication will be considered invalid, and will be rejected.

Two separate DVD discs (one for backup) are required for each presentation. Please carefully follow the video submission requirements:

  • The video presentation should be limited to seven minutes. Videos of a single patient will be considered only if the abstract contains data on a series of similar patients. Videos must be accompanied with appropriate narration in English.
  • The title of the video, the authors’ name, institution name and contact details should be included in the video.
  • Video format: MPEG; MPEG2; or WMV (Windows Media) Screen ratio of 4:3 or 9:16
  • Video signal: NTSC system
  • Region code: Free or 2
  • After acceptance, videos identical to the initial versions submitted should be labeled with your Assigned Presentation ID and recorded on the DVD discs. DVDs should be submitted to the Speaker Ready Room no later than one hour before the session starts.

Selected videos that are accepted for presentation at the WCE 2011 may be published in Journal of Endourology Part B, Videourology. Authors must have ownership of the copyright to the video at the time of submission. Copyrighted background music cannot be used in the video without permission from the copyright owners.
