Minimally Invasive Urology: Future Vision and Education

NOV 30 - DEC 3, 2011 Kyoto Japan

Dear colleagues and friends:

Tadashi Matsuda, President of the Local Organizing Committee

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 29th World Congress of Endourology & SWL (WCE2011), I am honored to invite you to Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, where this leading international congress will take place from November 30th to December 3rd, 2011.

The main theme of WCE 2011 Kyoto will be “Minimally Invasive Urology: Future Visions and Education”. Discussions will focus on the latest innovations in endourology, laparoscopy, robotics, shock wave therapy, ablation therapy, laser technology, photodynamic medicine and biomedical engineering, along with simulations, navigation and training in technical skills.

I would like to take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported Japan in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, from which we are recovering rapidly. Of note, Kyoto is over 500 km away from the affected areas– the same distance as Paris to Milan or Montreal to New York-and has not suffered any negative consequences caused by the earthquake or the damage to the nuclear power station. In all aspects, from transportation to accommodations, Kyoto is operating as usual. Indeed, the 99th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Urological Association was successfully held in April in Japan much to the enjoyment of all who attended from Japan and from all parts of the world.

A city with more than 1,200 years of history, Kyoto will provide a truly exceptional setting for our World Congress. At the seventeen World Heritage Sites located in and around the city, late November will see the autumn colors reaching the peak of their glory. Planned around these local sites of natural beauty and cultural interest, our social program will leave participants from all over the world with unforgettable memories of WCE2011.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Yours sincerely,

Tadashi Matsuda

Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Endourology Enthusiasts,

ralph_v_clayman

It is both a privilege and pleasure, as President of the Endourology Society, to invite you to the 29th World Congress of Endourology and SWL to be held in the lovely and historic World Heritage City of Kyoto from November 30th to December 3rd, 2011.

The outstanding program organized by Dr. Tadashi Matsuda and his colleagues is entitled “Minimally Invasive Urology: Future Vision and Education”. The program will focus not only on what can be done today, but also on what we will be doing tomorrow and how we will successfully transfer these skills to many others in order to provide the benefits of endourology to more patients world-wide. This meeting will no doubt be the highlight of the year. I encourage you to be with us for this momentous congress.

I can assure you, your time will be well spent – as you will get to share and learn the latest techniques and technology while being introduced to the wonders of Japanese culture and cuisine.

Sincerely,

Ralph V Clayman
