Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to announce that the 2nd Asia-Pacific Pediatric Retina Association (APPREA) Meeting will be held on July 24 (Fri) and 25 (Sat), 2026, at Kumamoto-jo Hall in Kumamoto City, Japan.

This meeting will bring together ophthalmologists from across the Asia-Pacific region who specialize in pediatric retinal diseases, providing a valuable opportunity to share and discuss the latest knowledge. The program will cover a wide range of topics, including retinopathy of prematurity, retinal detachment, inherited retinal diseases, myopia, intraocular tumors, and ocular trauma. Although pediatric retinal diseases are relatively rare, this two-day meeting will enable participants to learn intensively from the experience and expertise of leading specialists.

The meeting also offers a rich platform for international exchange. By engaging in clinical experiences and research outcomes from different countries and regions, and discussing them from diverse perspectives, participants will gain fresh insights into patient care and foster potential collaborations through networking.

Kumamoto, the host city, is home to the historic Kumamoto Castle, the beautiful natural scenery of Mount Aso, warm-hearted people, and exquisite local cuisine. We hope you will take some time between sessions to enjoy the unique culture and nature of Kumamoto.

We look forward to welcoming you to Kumamoto and sharing two inspiring days of learning and fellowship.
