Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the International Training Course on Carbon Ion Radiotherapy (ITCCIR 2021) to be held online (on demand) from Nov 29th to Dec 12th, 2021.

The ITCCIR started 10 years ago and had been held once a year. If it weren't for the COVID19 infection this year, we would have been able to hold the event at the venues in Chiba and Gunma so that participants could enjoy Japanese culture as well as studying, but we decided to hold the course online, giving top priority to the health and safety of everybody.

At present, charged particle therapy has become remarkably popular, with more than 100 facilities worldwide. On the other hand, in order to effectively carry out this treatment, human resources with advanced knowledge and skills are much required, which however has not been sufficient. The purpose of this training course is to develop human resources and to provide participants with basic and practical knowledge of charged particle therapy. The content of the lectures will be mainly focused on carbon beam therapy, but there is not much difference between carbon beam and proton beam in terms of irradiation techniques and treatment planning, so anyone interested in charged particle therapy is encouraged to attend.

We are looking forward to having your registration.

Best regards,
