Professor and Chairman, Department of Radiology
Ehime University School of Medicine

It is my honor to host the 59th Annual Congress of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine (JSNM) in our home town Matsuyama, Ehime (Nov 1 – 3, Fri – Sun, 2019).

The 59th JSNM will be held in conjunction with the 39th Annual Congress of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology (JSNMT). The venue is “Matsuyama City Community Center”, 7 - 5 Minatocho, Matsuyama, Ehime, Japan, 790-0012 (10 min from JR Matsuyama Station on foot, 10 min from Matsuyama city station on foot, 3 min by bus from Matsuyama city station to “Matsuyama Community Center front”).

The theme is “Nuclear Medicine - - Fountain of Ideas for Precision Medicine - -”. Unique ideas of nuclear medicine have been applied in many fields of personalized medicine in the diagnosis and therapy. In this annual congress of JSNM, we prepared symposiums of theranostics, invited lectures by distinguished guests from all over the world, and many kinds of educational courses as well as “call for abstract sessions” including English sessions.  Although many sessions are in Japanese, there are lectures and sessions in English. So, oversea attendees can enjoy this annual congress.

Matsuyama is an old historical city with a beautiful castle, where we have a 360-degree view of the whole Matsuyama city at the top of the castle. There is one of the oldest hot spring in Japan, i.e., Dogo hot spring. In Matsuyama, there are so many kinds of delicious food and “O・MO・TE・NA・SHI” culture, i.e, gentle willing to host others.  Autumn leaves will also welcome you during the season. Please come and enjoy the congress and the culture. Let’s meet in Matsuyama, Ehime in November 2019.
