Scientific abstract oral/poster presentation award

First, second, and third place awards for best oral presentations and for best poster presentations will be selected from the nominated presentations by the abstract committee members.
Award ceremony will be held in the closing ceremony.

Presentation data submission period

The closing date for submission is by Monday, July 26, 2021, at noon
(Japan Time =GMT+9:00)

* Please note that some speakers have been individually informed by the Congress Secretariat of the earlier date than the above, which should be prioritized.

Presentation slide data (video with sound)

Please convert the recorded audio of the presentation into an MP4 format video before submission.

* If the data cannot be converted to MP4, please register in the sound-recorded pptx format.

Manual for creating and storing presentation data

Common guidelines (for data both with/without sound)

  • Create in Microsoft PowerPoint format (.pptx).
    Acceptable versions:
    [Windows versions] 2003/2007/2010/2013/2016/2019/365
    [Mac versions] 2008/2011/2016/2019/365

    * Recommended versions: Windows version 2016/2019/365, Mac version 2019/365

    * For versions older than the recommended, character misalignments may take place.

    * If a software other than Microsoft PowerPoint (Keynote, etc.) is used, please convert to MP4 format (in case with sound), or pdf format (in case without sound) before registering.

  • Create slides with a wide screen ratio size (16:9).
    The file needs to be converted in Full HD, 1920:1080 (for 16:9 wide).

    * 4K is not supported.

  • Use OS standard fonts.
    [English] Times New Roman, Arial, Arial Black, Arial Narrow, Century, Century Gothic

    * Special fonts will be replaced with the standard fonts, so the characters may be misaligned or garbled.

  • Please check the layout after matching the resolution of your PC to XGA.
  • Be sure to check for viruses.

Presentation slide data with sound
(Invited lecture, Nominated oral, Oral)

  • No limit is imposed on the number or slides.
  • The size of the data with sound should be 1GB or less.
    Please be advised that, if it exceeds 1GB, some errors may occur depending on the viewer’s device.

Presentation slide data with sound (Nominated poster)

  • Please create multiple slides like normal lecture data, not large format.
  • The maximum number of text slides that can be registered is 10
    (including title slides, biography, and COI).
  • The size of the data with sound should be 1 GB or less.
    Please be advised that, if it exceeds 1GB, some errors may occur depending on the viewer’s device.

Presentation slide data without sound (Poster)

  • Please create multiple slides like normal lecture data, not large format.
  • The maximum number of text slides that can be registered is 10
    (including title slides, biography, and COI).
  • The file size that can be registered is up to 500MB.
  • Customize options (e.g. video recording, audio recording, animation, slide notes) cannot be used. If included in the presentation slide data, they will be invalidated.

Citation of copyrighted material

Please be careful when quoting copyrighted works when holding in Web format.
When quoting something non-original, ex. some figures, be sure to specify the source.

In addition, to prevent reprinting on each slide, we recommend that you write your affiliation, name, etc. as your own copyright notice (copyright).

Disclosure of COI statement

To ensure full transparency, it is planned for any conflict of interest (COI) to be openly declared and identified at the beginning of every presentation to inform the audience.
Please include a COI statement, or a no COI statement in the second slide (after the title slide), depending on whether the presence or absence of COI.

Recommended environment

  • OS: Windows 8.1 or later versions, or macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later versions.
  • Browser: Newest versions of Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari (only for Mac)

About the agreement of on-demand streaming

The speakers are kindly requested to agree to the following terms and conditions, pertaining to on-demand streaming.

  • The lecturer shall agree that the presentation data (slides, etc.) for the academic conferences including the 2nd World Dysphagia Summit and the 26th & 27th Joint Meeting of Japanese Society of Dysphagia Rehabilitation (hereinafter ‘the Academic Conferences’) will be used for the viewing system without compensation, from Tuesday, August 24 to Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
  • The target viewers of the data shall be limited to the participants to the Academic Conferences.
  • The lecturer shall declare the presence or absence of any conflict of interest (COI) based on the COI guidelines and subsections stipulated by Japanese Society of Dysphagia Rehabilitation.
  • The organizer of the Academic Conferences shall upload the presentation data (slides, etc.) on the viewing system after converting to non-downloadable format.
  • The organizer of the Academic Conferences shall promptly discard the presentation data (slides, etc.) after the academic conferences terminate.
  • The lecturer shall be fully responsible in the event that the presentation data (slides, etc.) uploaded on the viewing system may cause any infringement of copyright or any other rights and/or any damage to interests of a third party.
  • The Academic Conferences shall accept no liability or responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage to the lecturer arising from uploading the presentation data (slides, etc.).
  • The viewers are firmly prohibited from taking a picture and/or screen shot with their devices such as PC and smart-phones.
