The 23rd Annual Meeting of Japanese Society for Adult Congenital Heart Disease will be held at the Fukuoka International Congress Center from January 7th to 9th, 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual meeting was canceled in 2021. This time, the meeting is scheduled as an on-site meeting, however, it will be changed to the WEB format depending on the status of COVID-19 pandemic.
This society was started as an adult congenital heart disease study group in 1998, and established as the society in 2010. The board certification system of adult congenital heart disease specialists system has started in 2019. However, it is challenging to provide the same medical care in nationwide Japan due to the specificity of congenital heart diseases.
Physicians with various specialties such as adult cardiologists, pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, obstetricians, and radiologists, healthcare professionals including nurses as well as patients participate in the annual meeting. It is needed to create new evidence so that standard of care based on scientific evidence can be provided in nationwide Japan based on the experience and knowledge of many specialists.
The theme of the 23rd Annual Meeting is " Always learning a lesson and challenging together -Aiming for evidence-based medicine-". The latest topics and also various educational sessions for doctors who want to become specialists in adult congenital heart disease are planning.
In January 2022, we hope to overcome the COVID-19 and meet the attendees in person. We are very much looking forward to your participation and contribution.
