The 41st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Neuroendovascular Therapy (JSNET 2025) will be held at the Osaka International Convention Center for four days from November 12 (Wednesday) to 15 (Saturday), 2025. It is a great honor for me to preside over this meeting, and I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of my mentors, colleagues, and members of JSNET.
The theme of this meeting is “Fuse to Evolution.” The continued development of endovascular treatment over the past 40 years has been thanks to the fusion of knowledge and techniques from various fields. Treatment methods and devices have evolved by the combined efforts of many people, including physicians in neurosurgery, neurology, radiology, and emergency medicine; co-medical personnel such as radiology technicians and nurses; companies and engineers in technology development; and government officials in authorizing treatment.
JSNET is the only society that certifies specialists in neuroendovascular treatment in Japan. In today’s world, where diversity and plurality are so important, I think it is crucial that various opinions are discussed in the society, so that we can continue to evolve in the future. This will be the first time for an internist to chair this scientific meeting, and I believe that this generosity is one of the wonderful aspects of JSNET. With mechanical thrombectomy becoming the standard of care, endovascular treatment is fulfilling an increasing responsibility to society. For the further evolution of endovascular treatment, it is necessary to continue to fuse the power of various fields. Furthermore, in view of the importance of international information and discussion, we are planning to hold the International Satellite Symposium “MT 10th Anniversary” on the first day of the meeting.
Osaka, the host city of the conference, is a place that has embraced various cultures and developed them with its own unique ideas since ancient times. The city is a blend of history, common streetscapes, and futuristic urban architecture, and many advanced ideas and technologies have been born from this mix of cultures. I sincerely hope that the conference will lead to the evolution of neuroendovascular therapy and colleagues through exciting discussions with participants from a variety of fields.
We will do our best to welcome you in Osaka, the city of fusion, and look forward to seeing you there.
