Message from President of the Meeting

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The 50th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Surgery of the Foot will be held at Karuizawa Prince Hotel (Nagano Prefecture) on November 13-14, 2025 (with a pre-conference session planned for Wednesday, November 12). I am very honored to be appointed as the president of the 50th Annual Meeting, which is a significant event in the history of our society.

This will be the fourth occasion that the professor of St. Marianna University has served as president of this prestigious gathering of foot and ankle surgeons. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the Japanese Society for Surgery of the Foot for selecting me to preside over, what I hope will be, a memorable occasion in the history of our society.

The theme of our upcoming meeting is: “Reaching higher and further into the future”. With this in mind, we encourage all overseas orthopaedic surgeons to submit any abstracts relating to foot surgery.

The number of our members has increased dramatically in recent years, at the same time the field of foot surgery in Japan has greatly increased its presence overseas. This year's meeting is the 50th anniversary and as so, we will hold a special anniversary ceremony on November 13. In addition, several international sessions will be held during the meeting period.

Karuizawa is a pleasant resort located only an hour from Tokyo Station. The conference coincides with the season of autumn leaves, so you can enjoy nature to its fullest during this time. In addition, skiing, tennis, golf, and hot springs are available, and I hope that everyone can take advantage of this opportunity to refresh themselves. Please come to Karuizawa with your family and friends and enjoy our 50th Annual Meeting.

We look forward to seeing you in Karuizawa.
