Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the Osaka Retina Meeting 2023 will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, following the 2019 meeting, and will be the 5th meeting since 2013.
The venue will be the same as last year, the Congress Convention Center at Grand Front Osaka, a full-scale convention facility with direct access from the North Exit of JR Osaka Station. We are planning to invite leading vitreoretinal surgeons from Japan and abroad as faculty members to give lectures and luncheon seminars mainly on surgical retina. The meeting of this year will also feature a new alternative to Live Surgery, which is to show valuable surgical videos provided by faculty members and hold panel discussions.
We are planning to welcome three overseas faculty members this year; Dr. Shih-Jen Chen, Chairman of Ophthalmology at Taipei Veterans General Hospital from Taiwan, Dr. Jian-Hui Huang, Senior Consultant at the National Eye Center from Singapore, and Dr. Peter Szurman, director of Eye Clinic Sulzbach from Germany.
We also invited top-runners in the field of surgical retina from Japan.
In consideration of some of the ethical issues concerning the live surgery broadcast, from this year we plan to hold a discussion session using valuable surgical videos shared by all the invited speakers.
