Dear Friends and Colleagues!

It is a great honor for me to invite all the members of Federation of Asia Clinical Oncology (FACO) to the 6th International Conference of FACO (FACO Meeting). This meeting will be held in conjunction with 56th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Clinical Oncology (JSCO), on October 18-20, 2018, at Pacifico Yokohama, Yokohama, Japan.

As you know, in recent years, the treatment of cancer has been dramatically improved due to the development of translational research. Immune-checkpoint inhibitor is the representative example. In terms of cancer diagnosis, genetic tests are going to be available. Indeed, we are now facing a new era of cancer treatment and care.
It is very important to have strong partnerships and close collaborations among Asian countries to further improve prognosis and quality of life for cancer patients. Based on this concept, FACO was established 5 years ago. Several collaborative clinical studies had already been started among China, Korea and Japan.

In parallel with FACO Meeting, we will prepare FACO/JSCO international program according to the 3rd FACO Meeting established by Past Congress Chairman Ikuo Konishi 3 years ago in Kyoto. In this FACO/JSCO international program, expert physicians from each country will get together to present the current status of the above mentioned collaborative studies.

In FACO Meeting, we welcome general presentations on cancers of each organ and also malignant lymphoma. We look forward to as many attendees as possible from Asian countries.

Lastly but not the least, the venue Pacifico Yokohama is located on the “Minato Mirai” area, facing the beautiful Yokohama Bay. It is close to Uraga where Matthew Perry, Commodore of the United States Navy, visited in 1853 which brought the end of national isolation of Japan. Yokohama city is also famous for the biggest China town in Japan.
