the 77th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthodontic Society

Greetings

The 77th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthodontic Society Kazuhito Arai, DDS, DDSc

The 77th Annual Meeting
of the Japanese Orthodontic Society

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is my great honor to serve as the Local Organizing Chair of this meeting. First, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Past Presidents, Professor Hiroyuki Ishikawa, Professor Noriyoshi Shimizu, President, Professor Keiji Moriyama, and Annual Meeting Planning Committee Chair, Professor Isao Saito, all the members of JOS, and all the supporting staff members for this wonderful opportunity.

The meeting will be held at Pacifico Yokohama, the largest convention facility in Japan from Tuesday, October 30th to Thursday, November 1st, 2018. The 7th Joint Meeting of the Japanese Orthodontic Society and Korean Association of Orthodontists will be held in conjunction with the meeting.

"Towards a Bright Future in Orthodontics Together" was selected as the meeting theme. It carries with it our wish to create a chance to bring together the experience and wisdom of orthodontics as a medical field and biological science along with the enthusiasm to explore our future direction. In addition, this meeting theme may also provide an opportunity to think of what we can now do for the children who will create our future in Japan and the world.

Some new attempts will be made to upgrade our annual meeting in preparation for the upcoming 9th International Orthodontic Congress, which will be held for the first in Asia in 2020 at the same venue. We all would be deeply grateful for your cooperation.

When looking back 37 years ago, the Nippon Dental University hosted the 40th Annual Meeting, chaired by Professor Kousuke Motohashi, held at Sasagawa Memorial Hall, Tokyo in 1981. On this historic and special occasion, we will do our best to work together as a team, and would sincerely appreciate your warm support and encouragement.

The light-blue based graphic design was created with 32 small clouds aligned as if stretching into infinity, blowing in the sea breeze in the sky. We are all looking forward to meeting you in the beautiful, historical port-town; she has watched over the development of dentistry and orthodontics from when our country opened its gates to the world.
