It is my great honor to serve as the President of the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Acute Liver Failure Study Group of Japan. I am Shuji Terai from Niigata University. I express my deepest gratitude for being entrusted with this distinguished role. Together with the faculty and alumni of our department, we are diligently preparing to ensure the success of this important meeting.
The theme of this year’s meeting is “Innovation.” In facing the critical challenge of saving patients with liver failure, we aim to foster discussion and exploration of new directions in medicine and healthcare through the lens of future-oriented medical innovation. We hope to create a forum where outstanding speakers from Japan and abroad, who are leading pioneering work in their respective fields, can share insights and engage in active discussions.

Through such exchange, we aspire to contribute to shaping the future of both acute and chronic liver failure treatment.
This meeting also marks the beginning of the “Niigata Liver Symphony,” a series of events that will continue with the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Hepatology and the 12th Conference on Liver, Diabetes, and Metabolism. We warmly invite you to Niigata, and hope that these gatherings will provide a unique opportunity to discuss and envision the future of liver disease treatment, united in our shared mission to save patients’ lives.

Sincerely,

Shuji Terai, MD, PhD, FAASLD
