Greeting / The 45th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology

The 45th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology
Chair: Mieko Ota
(Radiological Technologist, PhD, Department of Central Radiology Block, Gifu Prefectural General Medical Center)
Dear all, and believe your prosperity.
I am honored to have been appointed as the Congress Chair for the 45th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology (JSNMT).
The 45th Annual Meeting of JSNMT will be held jointly with the 65th Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine that Congress Chair is the Professor Kazuko Ohno who belong to Department of Radiological Technology Kyoto College of Medical Science. We are going to hold it for three days from 13 to 15 on November in 2025. The venue is Kyoto City Miyako Messe, an industrial promotion center in Kyoto City.
Although past academic meetings have frequently taken place in Kyoto, this will be the first time at the Miyako Messe, located in the Okazaki area of Sakyo. Okazaki is a symbolic cultural zone of Kyoto, nestled between the Higashiyama mountains and the Lake Biwa Canal, and home to iconic cultural sites such as the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art, ROHM Theatre Kyoto, the National Museum of Modern Art, the Kyoto Prefectural Library, Heian Shrine, and the Kyoto City Zoo. It is in this historically and culturally rich environment, and in one of Kyoto's largest exhibition venues, that we look forward to welcoming you.
This year’s meeting is especially significant, as both the Chair roles are held by women for the first time, marking a fresh and unique atmosphere for the event. With the reclassification of COVID-19 to a Category V infectious disease, more opportunities for people to gather in person have arisen, and we hope to maximize participation by offering a hybrid format with on-demand streaming in addition to in-person attendance.
The theme for this year’s event is "Imaging and Observation of the Inner Body: Prospects of Nuclear Medicine and Humanity." As the development and application of new drugs advance, the field of nuclear medicine is regaining vitality in both clinical and research areas. We are committed to making this academic meeting a success and contributing to further progress in the field. At the 45th meeting, we have newly established a Basic Seminar and an Advanced Seminar, which will provide courses on everything from the basics to the application of nuclear medicine. In addition, in nuclear medicine, we have planned to enable participants to master everything from imaging techniques to clinical practice at this conference. In line with the ongoing promotion of women’s active participation, the “Nadeshiko Association,” which has been spearheading cross-disciplinary activities within the Society of Nuclear Medicine, was transformed last year into the “DE&I(Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) Committee.” Furthermore, the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology has launched the “Hanamizuki ” Women in Nuclear Medicine ~ Empowering Women Committeea for supporting female radiological technologists. For the 45th meeting, the “DE&I Committee” and the “Hanamizuki ” will jointly host events that promote diversity within the nuclear medicine field.
We have prepared a variety of events, and we hope you will enjoy the conference alongside the beautiful autumn foliage of Kyoto.
We sincerely look forward to the participation of all our members.
