It is my great pleasure to announce that the 26th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine (JSRM 2027) will be held from March 18 (Thursday) to March 20 (Saturday), 2027, at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto, Japan.
The theme of this meeting is:“Challenge, Create, and Soar: Advancing Regenerative Medicine through Diversity and Collective Wisdom”
The Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine was established in 2001 with the mission of “bringing together all forms of knowledge to advance innovation and the widespread application of regenerative medicine, thereby contributing to the well-being and future of humanity.” Since the implementation of the Guidelines for Clinical Research Using Human Stem Cells in 2006, Japan has developed a comprehensive regulatory framework for regenerative medicine, including the enforcement of the Act on the Safety of Regenerative Medicine and the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act (PMD Act) in 2014.
In recent years, regenerative medicine has achieved remarkable progress. Numerous innovative technologies have emerged in Japan and are steadily advancing toward clinical application. At the same time, however, some regenerative medicine practices continue to be offered without sufficient scientific evidence. This issue has attracted concern not only within Japan but also from the international community.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to research and clinical practice aimed at delivering scientifically validated, safe, and effective regenerative medicine to patients. To ensure public trust and promote the sustainable development of regenerative medicine as a field that genuinely benefits patients, I strongly believe that robust evidence generation and transparent scientific dialogue are essential. These principles are also reflected in the action goals outlined in the YOKOHAMA Declaration 2025. We are therefore preparing this meeting as a forum where participants can openly discuss the current achievements, challenges, and future directions of regenerative medicine from multiple perspectives.
The conference poster features the image of a phoenix, a universal symbol of regeneration and renewal. Depicted in vibrant rainbow colors, the phoenix represents our commitment to embracing diversity in perspectives, expertise, and backgrounds while creating new possibilities in regenerative medicine. It also reflects our aspiration to share innovations originating in Japan with the global community.
We hope that this meeting will provide an inspiring platform for active discussion and collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and professional roles. Through these interactions, we aim to foster new partnerships, stimulate innovation, and enable regenerative medicine research to take flight on the world stage.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the Board of Directors, the Society Secretariat, the Program Committee, and all individuals and organizations who continuously support the activities of our society.
I warmly invite you to join us in Kyoto and look forward to discussing the future of regenerative medicine together with colleagues from around the world.
