ACS2020

Welcome Message

Kohji Nishida
Congress President of ACS2020
Professor and Chairman, Department of Ophthalmology,
Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine

Conference name: the 7th Asia Cornea Society Biennial Scientific Meeting

Across the globe, we are dealing with extraordinary challenges to all aspects of our daily lives due to Covid-19. After careful deliberation on the current situation and with consideration for safety of participants and travel restrictions, the ACS council and secretariat team have decided to hold ACS 2020 as a virtual meeting, held from April 28 (Wednesday) to 29 (Thursday), 2021. We have also decided to keep the name “ACS 2020” for the conference.

As the congress president of ACS2020, it is my great pleasure to extend my warmest welcome to all of you.

We are planning special state-of-the-art scientific programs, and stimulating lectures and symposia, inviting experts from all over the Asia-Pacific region as well as the United States, Europe, and around the world. Thus, the meeting will feature presentations of the highest level.

We intend to cover both cutting-edge and comprehensive scientific topics including: keratoplasty, corneal infection, inflammation, dry eye, imaging, keratoconus, dystrophy, stem cells, regenerative medicine, basic research, refractive surgery, eye banks, and joint programs between ACS and other societies.

Osaka is known as the city of “Kuidaore” which literally means to eat until bankrupt, and there are restaurants of every kind, ranging from B grade to three-star gourmet. There’s something here for everyone. Osaka is also a venue for EXPO 2025.

We hope everyone stays safe, and look forward to welcoming you at ACS 2020 Virtual Meeting in April 2021.

With warmest regards,
