Dear Colleagues,

The 9^th Asian Pacific Congress of Heart Failure (APCHF) will be held from October 11 (Thursday) to 13 (Saturday), 2018　at Keio Plaza Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. It is my great honor to serve as the president of the APCHF 2018, as it is then first time of this meeting held in Japan.

The 1st Asian Pacific Congress of Heart Failure was held in September 2003 in Indonesia. Since then, this meeting was held in almost every 2 years. Progressive aging is an emerging concern in public health in Asian Pacific contries. Especially, the prevention and the management of heart failure is now inevitable urgent matter in this area.

We have organized a comprehensive and exciting scientific program for APCHF 2018 under the main theme of “Next Stage in HeartFailure Science and Management.” The meeting will cover the latest and most important issues in the field of heart failure.

The APCHF 2018 is jointly held with the 22nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Heart Failure Society (JHFS) (Congress president Prof. Issei Komuro) under the theme of “Innovation in Heart Failure Research and Practice” during the same period at the same venue. Furthermore, the 37th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Society for Heart Transplantation (Congress president Prof. Minoru Ono) will be held. The meeting will surely be an excellent opportunity for a wide range of medical professionals worldwide.

Tokyo is being renovated to move forward to the successful Olympic Games in 2020. There are many historical places in and around the city, and nice hot spas by a short trip. We believe that each of you will be immersed in cutting-edge presentations in daytime and smack your lips with excellent Japanese cuisine in the evening.
