Message from Congress President

Dear Friends,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 15th International Congress of the Asian Society Against Dementia Conference held in Sendai, Japan.

The main topics are "Fusion of the East and West,” “Harmony between Human and Technology," and it consists of the six parts:

1. Importance of observational methods, such as CDR
2. Behavioral neurology for language and memory
3. Non-pharmacological intervention
4. Neuroethics for dementia care
5. Matching of modern technology with older people
6. Behavioral neurology and disaster medicine

▶Please see the concept detail

Needless to say, the elucidation of pathophysiology and establishment of treatment/prevention methods are essential, but it is equally indispensable to support improving the quality of life of people with dementia and the well-developed social system to achieve our goal of "a society living well with dementia."

The year 2021 is the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake. It is a special and meaningful time to reflect on what is truly important as an academic challenge against life's difficulty, such as a great disaster.

We very much look forward to seeing you in Sendai in November 2021.

Yours,

Kenichi Meguro, MD
15th International Asian Society Against Dementia Congress President
Project Leader and Professor, Geriatric Behavioral Neurology Project
Tohoku University New Industry Creation Hatchery Center (NICHe)
