Welcome

We would like to invite you to participate in“the international symposium of Aldosterone and related substances in hypertension 2019 (ISARSH 2019)”, to be held in Sendai, Japan from May 11 to May 12, 2019, following 92nd Annual Meeting of the Japan Endocrine Society. The first and the second ISARSHs were organized by Prof. Sadayoshi Ito in 2010 and 2013, and both of them turned out successful in terms of the number of the participants and scientific exchange. One of the main themes of ISARSH 2019 is “aldosterone production, action and metabolism”, in particular toward updating our knowledge on the prevalence, cardiovascular complications, diagnosis and treatment of primary aldosteronism (PA). Recent advances in molecular pathology analysis of PA has indeed revealed the association between PA genotypes and clinical, histopathological and endocrinological phenotypes. In addition to aldosterone fields above, vasoactive substances including the renin-angiotensin system as well as novel treatment strategies for avoiding cardiac and renal complications of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia will be discussed in this symposium.

All invited speakers are globally recognized experts in these area coming from all over the world. However, the main object of this symposium is to encourage young scientists and clinicians of these fields. Therefore, we will organize young investigator award (YIA) poster competition on May 11 and could provide ten YIAs and twenty travel grants for those who would submit their research to ISARSH 2019.

We are all looking forward to seeing you at Sendai in May, 2019.
