Claudia Torres Farfán, PhD, is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Universidad Austral de Chile. Her research focuses on the impact of gestational chronodisruption on fetal development and long-term health, particularly the role of maternal circadian rhythms and melatonin in fetal programming. Using animal models, she has uncovered mechanisms linking disrupted maternal rhythms to metabolic and endocrine disorders in offspring. She has trained over 10 PhD students and several undergraduate fellows and leads nationally and internationally funded research projects. She also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Pineal Research, contributing to the advancement of chronobiology and neuroendocrinology.
