Visa Requirements
Participants who require a visa to enter Japan are advised to check the latest information with the nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate.

Please note that visa regulations may change, and participants are responsible for ensuring that they meet all entry requirements.
Arrival in Tokyo
The nearest international airport is Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND), located approximately 20 minutes from the congress venue.
Haneda Airport offers convenient access to central Tokyo and is well connected by train, taxi, and airport limousine bus services.
A second international airport, Narita International Airport (NRT), is located approximately 60–90 minutes from central Tokyo.

There is no official airport pickup service arranged for the congress.
Participants may travel from the airport to the venue using the following options:

Airport Limousine Bus
Airport limousine buses connect Haneda and Narita Airports with major hotels in Tokyo.

This hotel is surrounded by a beautiful Japanese garden and is recommended for invited speakers.

A modern hotel within walking distance of the venue and close to both Shinagawa Station and TAKANAWA GATEWAY Station.
Weather in Tokyo
Late May Weather
Late May in Tokyo is generally warm and comfortable.
Average temperature:
20°C – 26°C (68°F – 79°F)
Occasional rain showers may occur as the rainy season approaches.
Recommended Clothing
Light clothing is recommended during the day.
However, indoor venues and trains are often air-conditioned, so bringing a light jacket or cardigan is advisable.
Getting Around Tokyo
Tokyo has one of the most efficient public transportation systems in the world.
JR Yamanote Line
The JR Yamanote Line is a circular railway connecting major areas in Tokyo including:
- Tokyo
- Shinagawa
- Shibuya
- Shinjuku
- Ueno
- Akihabara
TAKANAWA GATEWAY Station is located on this line.

IC Transportation Cards
Visitors are recommended to use rechargeable transportation cards such as:
- Suica
- PASMO
These cards can be used for trains, subways, buses, and purchases at many convenience stores.
Sightseeing Tours in Japan

Travel Tips
Currency
The currency used in Japan is the Japanese Yen (JPY).
Credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and major stores.
However, some smaller shops may accept cash only.
ATMs are available at airports, convenience stores, and banks.

Power plugs in Japan are Type A (two flat parallel pins). Participants traveling from other regions may require a plug adapter.
Water
Tap water in Japan is safe to drink. Bottled water is widely available.
Smoking
Smoking is prohibited in most indoor public spaces, except in designated areas.
Tipping
Tipping is not customary in Japan, though some hotels and restaurants may include a service charge (10–15%).

Both numbers are available 24 hours a day.
If possible, ask hotel staff or nearby personnel for assistance when making an emergency call.
Pharmacies
Pharmacies (drugstores) are widely available in the Shinagawa and Takanawa areas.

- Welcia
Most pharmacies are open daily, and some operate 24 hours.
Safety in Tokyo
Tokyo is considered one of the safest cities in the world.
However, participants are advised to take normal precautions when traveling.
If you lose personal belongings, please contact the nearest police station (koban) or the congress staff.
Natural Disasters
Japan occasionally experiences earthquakes.
In the event of an earthquake:
- Stay calm
- Follow instructions from venue staff
- Protect your head and move away from falling objects
