Thoughts on the poster production

Poster for the 127th General Meeting and Academic Lecture of the Japanese Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery

For the poster of the 127th Annual Meeting of JORL-HNS, Mr. Hirohiko Araki from Sendai City wrote the illustration.

Araki wrote "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" and has continued to captivate readers around the world for many years through its vivid characters, dynamic storytelling, and worldview full of human anthems. We sent the following proposal (excerpt) to Mr. Araki at the time of the request.

We will hold an annual meeting of the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in Sendai City, which treats patients with disabilities in “hearing", "speaking", "eating", and "smelling and tasting". I hope that Mr. Hirohiko Araki from Miyagi Prefecture, who writes a work in which unique characters devote themselves to working together with their colleagues, will create the poster, so that the doctors participating in the conference can use teamwork to treat patients kindly and develop novel treatments.

Since otolaryngologists treats the nose, mouth, and throat, they were at the forefront of medical treatment during the corona virus pandemic. I hope that they will participate in this conference and that they will work hard, strengthen themselves, and think that they will do their best again from tomorrow.

Otolaryngologists deal with organs that are essential for maintaining the patient's life and social life, and is prepared to treat the "entrance to life and the exit of the heart". I have no intention of limiting Mr. Araki's creative image, but I would appreciate it if you could reflect the above planning intentions in your work to the extent possible.

The illustration depicts a therapist in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, in bright tones.

We would appreciate it if all of you members of the Japanese Ear and Nose could see it with a variety of sensibilities.
