Notice of Decision to Hold a JSMO2021 Virtual Congress
Members and Participants
First, we would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to the victims of the new coronavirus infection, their families, and all those who have been affected by the new coronavirus.
We have been closely monitoring the evolving coronavirus situation and after careful deliberation we have decided to give top priority to the safety of the participants and prevention any possible spread of new coronavirus infections.
As a result, we have decided to make the congress a virtual congress consisting of live and on-demand streaming sessions. The duration of the congress has also been extended to the evening of February 21, 2021 (Sunday), from the afternoon of February 18, 2021 (Thursday).
We are also aware that opting to hold a virtual congress will cause some inconvenience to participants, presenters, and sponsors, as they will not have the opportunity to have face-to-face discussions. However, we aim to make the most out of the situation by taking advantage of the new possibilities a web conference brings in order to create a meaningful experience for all participants. We would therefore like to ask for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
For more information, please refer to the website.
Please note that there has been no change in the general abstract submission period (deadline: Wednesday, September 30, 2020), and we encourage you to submit as many presentations as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kazuto Nishio, M.D., Ph.D.
