The Combined Meeting: the 43rd JSSF & the 5th AIG Annual Meetings

Live Demonstration Surgery

Arthroscopic repair and reconstruction for ankle lateral ligament injuries had introduced in 1990s. Since AIG (Ankle Instability Group) has founded in 2013, it has rapidly advanced. Many surgeons of foot and ankle have now reported various anatomical arthroscopic repair/reconstruction, yet it is difficult to fully understand its detailed procedures and techniques just by reading papers Now, “seeing is believing”. Nine of those whose papers on arthroscopic repair/reconstruction and two on the recent MIS in top journal in last five years will demonstrate their surgeries with using fresh cadavers at lab in Dokkyo Medical University. Simultaneously relaying the video of the operation to the venue, an environment where participants at the hall can discuss with the surgeon and the moderator in real time is set up. It would be tough for surgeons because the dissection will be held by the third party after the operation. This is a great chance to experience operations by the world’s top surgeons while staying in Japan.
