Congress President of the 100th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association
Professor and Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Kyoto University

I am pleased to announce that the 100th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association will be held for four days from May 13 (Thursday) to 16 (Sunday), 2027 at Pacifico Yokohama in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

The theme of this meeting is “The Best is yet to come.”

In the past 100 years, the Japanese orthopaedic community has produced many world-leading research results and built an impressive track record in clinical practice. On the other hand, there still remain many issues to be solved. It is our mission to bravely tackle these issues and carve out a path to a new era. In organizing the forthcoming meeting, we aim to provide meaningful opportunities to share the latest knowledge in the fields of research, technology and clinical practice from a future-oriented perspective and discuss our vision for the next 100 years.

The program of the meeting will encompass a wide variety of subjects, ranging from cutting-edge topics such as robot-assisted surgery and advanced digital technologies, as well as the latest clinical knowledge in respective specialties, to basic surgical techniques and clinical research methodologies. To increase the international profile of this meeting, more than half of the sessions will be conducted in English, thereby encouraging academic exchanges with participants from abroad.

We sincerely hope that the forthcoming meeting, as an event commemorating our centennial milestone, will be fruitful for all participants and inspire us to look toward the future while building on tradition.

We heartily look forward to your participation.
