I received my postdoctoral training in neuroendocrinology at Harvard University and served on the faculty at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil for about 10 years. In 2006, I spent 1-year sabbatical at UTSW Medical Center and was invited to join the faculty at the Division of Hypothalamic Research. In 2013, I moved my laboratory to the University of Michigan where I am a Professor in the Department of Molecular & Integrative Physiology and Director of the Neuroscience Graduate Program. My research focuses on neuroendocrinology, metabolism, and reproductive physiology, aiming to uncover the neural and molecular mechanisms through which metabolic imbalances affect reproductive health.
