Erik Hrabovszky

Erik Hrabovszky, MD, PhD, is a professor at the HUN-REN Institute of Experimental Medicine in Budapest, Hungary. He earned his medical degree from the University Medical School of Pécs and began his research career in the neuroendocrine laboratory of Zsolt Liposits. He completed postdoctoral training in Sandra Petersen’s laboratory in Amherst, Massachusetts, where he investigated the central regulation of reproduction and the role of estrogen receptor β in GnRH neurons. His recent work has pioneered both the anatomical characterization and the transcriptomic profiling of hypothalamic kisspeptin neurons in mice and humans. Since 2022, he has served as chairman of the Neuroendocrine Section of the Hungarian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism.
