He earned his Biochemistry degree (2000) and PhD (2003) from the University of La Plata, Argentina, before pursuing postdoctoral training in neuroendocrinology at Brown University (2004–2008) and UT Southwestern (2008–2010). Since 2010, he has held an investigator position at Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas and leads the Neurophysiology Lab at the Multidisciplinary Institute of Cell Biology (IMBICE) in La Plata, where his team investigates the neurobiological basis by which peptide hormones, neuropeptides, and related receptors regulate energy balance and feeding behavior. He has authored over 130 publications with more than 8,300 citations. He also serves as Director of IMBICE and Vice-President of PANS.
