I am a senior lecturer in the School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow. My research focuses on determining and understanding the physiological impacts of exposure to environmental endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). Over the past 17 years, my research has utilised sheep exposed to a “real-life” chemical mixture via grazing pastures fertilized with biosolids (which contains anthropogenic chemicals including EDCs at low-levels), to study multigenerational effects on metabolic and reproductive health. My published work has demonstrated multiple long-lasting effects in offspring of mothers exposed to biosolids during pregnancy, including effects on reproductive and metabolic organs and their neuroendocrine regulatory pathways.
