Dr. Pablo B. Martinez de Morentin is a Group Leader in the Neuroscience Theme at the University of Leeds (since 2023), where he investigates how gut-derived nutrient signals and environmental food cues converge in the brain to shape eating behaviour. He previously held a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship at the University of Aberdeen with Prof. Heisler, studying hypothalamic and brainstem circuits regulating feeding and glucose metabolism. He earned his PhD in Endocrinology from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), focusing on how hormones and compounds regulate energy balance through brain AMPK and thermogenic pathways. His work seeks to reveal novel neural mechanisms to guide anti-obesity strategies.
