The Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery is accepting submissions for plenary speakers. Proposals will be screened on the basis of academic excellence and high originality, and selected speakers will receive a Presidential Award in a certificate of commendation and an extra prize.
Selected speakers will be announced at the session, and original papers of the speeches must be submitted to the Society’s official Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences (JHBPS) within two months following the Annual Meeting.

Read the following instructions carefully and submit the “Proceeding Format” in the MS Word document via e-mail to the Management Secretariat (38jshbps2026-abs@m.congre.co.jp).

Download “Proceeding Format” below and submit the following contents:
1) Title, Speaker’s (Co-Speakers’) name(s) and Affiliations
2) Abstract
3) Body Text
4) Cited Literature
5) Tables ＆ Figures
Please indicate if you would like to present in other sessions in case you are not selected for the plenary session.
In principle, title, speaker (co-speakers’) name(s) and affiliations, abstract, body text, cited literature,
tables ＆ figures should be within 2,000 words combined. One table/figure is equivalent to 200 words.
Prepare your body text in IMRAD format.
In the Body Text section, indicate each citation using the number and parenthesis only. Cited literature should be listed in Cited Literature section.
You may include up to three black and white tables or figures no larger than 8cm horizontally by 6cm vertically. Please paste your tables or figures into your document and include titles and captions as instructed below:

On the day of the congress
Three selected applicants will speak at the plenary session during the 38th Meeting of Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery, and will receive the President’s Award during the JSHBPS General Assembly.
After the congress to July 31, 2026 (only for plenary session presenters) (tentative)
Original manuscript should be submitted to the Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences.
※Even if the manuscript has been rejected by the Journal, the President’s award will not be revoked.
Both the principal presenter and co-presenters must disclose conflicts of interest. The party responsible for the presentation (the principal presenter or Corresponding Speaker) shall report on all COI matters on behalf of the presenters.
Presenters and lecturers at the 38th Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic
Surgery should use this “Disclosure of COI” form to provide information that ought to be disclosed
